A music cue sheet documents every piece of music in your film — the title, composer, publisher, usage type (background, featured, theme), and duration. It's required by performing rights organizations (PROs) like ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC to collect and distribute royalties. Most distributors require it as a deliverable.
